Palliative and End of Life Care Training
Palliative care is everyone’s responsibility. Learn how to recognise deterioration, communicate well about end of life care, and plan ahead for the future.
Supporting Individuals to Provide Palliative Care
Our Palliative and End of Life Care Training workshop guides professionals through the key principles of palliative and end of life care, from understanding typical illness trajectories and opportunities for advance care planning, through to recognising and supporting the dying person.
This training pulls together the learning from Advance Care Planning and Recognising Dying into one comprehensive session.
We also signpost the best resources for professionals to bolster their understanding of patient-centred end of life care.
Why This Programme?
As our population lives for longer, more and more people face life-limiting or terminal diagnosis’. It is estimated* that 90% of people who die will need palliative care – that currently equates to more than 600,000 people nationally.
This will rise by more than 147,000 over the next 30 years.
Most of this support will come from the generalist health and social care workshop.
Our expert-led workshop comprehensively covers what professionals need to know about providing palliative care within their roles.
