Make the day your own and go all out, stick to a simple accessory, or opt for your everyday walking gear; we look forward to seeing you for a Walk With Us.

Adults – £20 – minimum sponsorship £100

Children – 6-17 years – £15 – minimum sponsorship £50

Under 5s – free – please contact us directly if you would like to purchase a t-shirt for a child under the age of 5

Your registration fee helps to cover the cost of running the event, but it’s your sponsorship that truly makes an impact. By encouraging friends, family and colleagues to support you, you help us to reach more patients and families at the moments they need us most. We recommend setting up a Just Giving page to collect your sponsorship.

Registrations close Sunday 23rd August.

The walk will start and finish at Burnham Overy Staithe Village Hall.

Please select the distance you would like to walk upon booking:

3.5 miles – to the sand dunes and back

8 miles – to the lookout in Holkham and back

14 miles – to Wells-next-the-sea and back

All distances are approximate. We do recommend you train before taking part and agree that you feel fit and able to complete a long walk on different terrains.

We expect the longest distance to typically take between 4 – 6 hours depending on walking speed and the amount of rest stops taken.

The route is relatively flat but does have varying terrains including walking across sand, shingle, path and dunes.

Some of the paths are narrow and uneven underfoot with natural trip hazards or raised roots. Please be careful of your footing as you walk.

The walk is for fun and is not a race. We encourage everyone to go at their own pace and enjoy the walk!

You can add a personal story to the page which can easily be shared with family, friends and colleagues.

All funds raised through Just Giving are paid directly to Tapping House so you don’t need to do anything.

If you would prefer a sponsorship form, you can print it here. We ask that you do not bring sponsorship with you on the day – this can be paid either directly to the Fundraising Team at the Hospice, via cash, cheque or bank transfer.

We kindly ask that all sponsorship money raised is paid to Tapping House within two months of completing the event.

We recommend you wear layered clothing suitable for variable weather conditions, including waterproofs and sun protection. Wear sturdy, comfortable walking boots or trainers.

Participants are asked to come equipped with any medication they may need.

Bring food and water for your walk. A packed lunch, high energy snacks and sufficient water is recommended. There are water top up points at the checkpoints and the opportunity to purchase food, snacks and drinks at The Lookout Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea Beach Café. There are also toilet facilities at Holkham and Wells.

As a guide, we recommend spending no longer than 10 minutes at the rest stops with 30 minutes for lunch.

Please ensure at least one member of your group has downloaded What3Words before starting the walk. This can be used in the case of an emergency to locate you easily.

There will be photography at the event and by taking part you are agreeing to be photographed. If you do not consent to this, please make the Fundraising Team aware by emailing fundraisingteam@tappinghouse.org.uk.

Free designated event car parking is available near the starting point. This is at your own risk and Tapping House will not be held responsible for any accidents/damage caused while parking or leaving your car.

Places are non-transferable. Please contact us if you are unable to take part so we can re-allocate your place.

Refunds will only be offered if you are unable to take part due to exceptional circumstances such as injury preventing participation. Please contact us in this instance.

We aim to ensure the event goes ahead, however should it be necessary to postpone or cancel the event, participants are encouraged to look out for updates via our social media platforms.

We will also communicate any postponement or cancellation via email to your booking lead.

The route will be signposted, and the event will be controlled by marshals along the route. For the safety of yourselves, other participants and the general public, please abide by any instructions provided the marshals.

Any walker under the age of 18 must be registered along with the parent/guardian who will be accompanying them on the walk.

There will be checkpoints along with the route with water top up points (apart from the first checkpoint at the sand dunes). At The Lookout and Wells-next-the-Sea Beach, there are opportunities to purchase food, snacks and drinks along with the public toilet facilities.

We do recommend that you train for the walk before taking part and that you feel comfortable that you will be able to complete your chosen walk on the varying terrain. Participants make the decision to take part and must be satisfied that this activity is suitable for them as individuals. Neither Tapping House or its affiliates can be held accountable for aggravation to illness or injuries sustained due to participation in this activity. Participants should make provisions to ensure their safe participation.

If you are unable to complete the walk, feel unwell or decide to finish the walk early, please inform a marshal or member of the Fundraising Team. We will provide you with an emergency contact number prior to the event.

If you need to drop out there are public buses available to take you back to Burnham Overy Staithe but please do check timetables as they do not run all day.

Please ensure at least one member of your group has downloaded What3Words before starting the walk. This can be used in the case of an emergency to locate you easily.
