Extraordinary Care

Extraordinary Team delivering Outstanding Care

We believe in living life to the end and bringing joy to patients’ lives. The care and services available here at Tapping House might not be what you expect a Hospice to provide.

We care deeply about providing people with choice, and we work with everyone as an individual, supporting them on every step of their journey.

More than a hospice – a place to live well

At Tapping House, we’re here for patients and families from the moment of diagnosis — offering expert care, comfort, and hope. We believe hospice care is about living well, with dignity and meaning, for as long as possible.

Every day, we care for people in one of the highest ageing communities in the country, where 26% of the population is over 65, compared to 19% nationally. As the need for our care grows, we’re reaching more homes and expanding our services so that everyone can spend their final months surrounded by comfort, choice, and dignity.

It costs £6.7 million a year, over £500,000 every month, to deliver our services. With less than a quarter of our funding coming from government sources, we rely on the kindness and generosity of our supporters.

Thanks to you, we can continue to provide the outstanding, compassionate care that makes Tapping House a place where no one faces life’s most difficult moments alone.

In Their Own Words..

Lovely quotes from our patients, volunteers and supporters

People think hospices are all doom and gloom and it’s not. It’s so happy and so joyous. We might not have a lot of time left, but if I can laugh with ease and have a joke and sometimes be a bit rude, that’s what it’s all about. Life is for living.
