We rely on the generosity of our community to continue providing exceptional care and support to patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses. Our charity shops, located across Norfolk, play a crucial role in raising the vital funds we need to deliver this care. Every item you donate, or purchase helps us make a difference in the lives of those we care for.
Our network of charity shops serves a dual purpose: providing affordable, high-quality goods to the community while generating essential funds that directly support us. Whether it’s clothing, homeware, or furniture, each sale helps fund the compassionate care and support we provide to patients and their families.
There are many ways you can help our charity shops continue their vital work:
Donate Your Pre-loved Items: Decluttering? Consider donating your unwanted items to one of our shops. We gratefully accept clothing, accessories, household items, and furniture in good condition. Your donations are key to keeping our shops stocked and successful.
Home Clearance Services: If you’re managing a home clearance, we can assist with collecting items that are suitable for resale. Our team can help take the stress out of the process, turning your unwanted goods into much-needed funds to support our care.
Furniture Collection: Have larger items to donate? We offer a convenient free of charge furniture collection service, making it easy for you to donate without worrying about transportation.
Shop on eBay: Did you know we also have an eBay shop? For unique and valuable items, we use our online platform to reach a wider audience, making sure we maximise every donation’s potential to raise funds.
We recently opened a new charity shop in the community of Burnham Market that offers the same range of high-quality goods that customers of Tapping House’s eight other charity shops in the county are used to. You can find our other eight Charity shops in Hunstanton, Snettisham, Fakenham, Swaffham, Downham Market, Wisbech and two in Kings Lynn.
To put into context the difference just a small donation to the shop can make to the vital work Tapping House does, here are some examples of what your donation could pay for:
A tea set worth £10 could fund a mobile phone for a month for the Tapping House Rapid Response Team
A nice wedding hat or jacket worth £25 could pay for the laundry for one day on our IPU
An item of good-quality furniture or prom dress worth £39 could pay for our Hospice at Home fleet to operate, enabling visits and patient collection.
In 2023, Tapping House charity shops generated an impressive profit of over £630,000, all of which went towards helping patients live life to the end and make the most of precious time with their families.
Drop off your items at one of our charity shops, or contact us to arrange a furniture collection or home clearance service. Together, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Please note, while we’re making improvements to our new website and you require any help with our furniture collection or home clearance service please email warehouse@tappinghouse.org.uk or call our Retail Distribution Team on 01553 767752 and a request form will be emailed to you.
