Work Experience & Placements

At Tapping House, we are committed to providing valuable learning opportunities through work experience and placements. We welcome applications from students, trainees and individuals from employment support programmes across clinical, non-clinical, kitchen, retail, and fundraising roles.

We offer a variety of placement options, including:

Clinical Placements

Gain hands-on experience with our care and therapy teams. You will observe patient care, participate in multi-disciplinary working, and learn how compassionate, personalised care is delivered.

Kitchen Placements

Learn about catering in a healthcare setting, including preparing meals for patients, supporting dietary needs, and ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety. This is a great opportunity to develop practical skills in a busy, supportive environment.

Fundraising Placements

Experience the exciting and varied world of hospice fundraising. You will help organise events, support campaigns, and gain insight into how fundraising directly benefits patient care.

Retail Placements

Our Hospice shops provide a dynamic learning environment. You’ll develop customer service, stock management, and merchandising skills, as well as teamwork, organisation, and confidence — all while supporting the vital income that keeps our hospice running.

Each application is carefully reviewed to ensure the experience is appropriate and beneficial for both the individual and the hospice.
