Dragonfly Meadow Leaves a Lasting Legacy at Sandringham Gardens

We were deeply honoured to see our Dragonfly Meadow take pride of place in the beautiful Sandringham Gardens as part of Tapping House’s 40th anniversary year. What unfolded was more than an installation, it became a powerful shared space for love, remembrance, and connection.

Each dragonfly symbolised a life, a memory, or a story held close to someone’s heart. With more than 4,000 steel dragonflies shimmering across the meadow, the gardens were transformed into a moving tribute that reflected the depth of care and compassion within our community.

Families and friends visited to pause, reflect, and remember loved ones no longer with us. We felt truly privileged to listen to so many personal stories and to hear what the Dragonfly Meadow and the Hospice mean to you. The sense of togetherness was palpable, and the conversations shared among the dragonflies will stay with us for a long time.

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of everyone who supported the project, through dedication, creativity, and kindness, the Dragonfly Meadow has raised over £178,800. This remarkable achievement will help us continue providing vital care and support to patients and families when they need it most.

From all of us, thank you for being part of something so meaningful. The legacy of the Dragonfly Meadow will live on in the care it helps provide and in the memories it was created to honour.
