Ron King Memorial Golf Day 2025 – A Day to Remember

On Thursday 1st August 2025, the Royal Norwich Golf Club once again played host to the Ron King Memorial Golf Day – an annual event held in loving memory of Ron King, who was cared for at Tapping House’s Inpatient Unit in 2022. Organised by Ron’s family and long-standing Tapping House supporter Chris Mann, the day is a heartfelt tradition of remembrance and giving back.   Now in its third year, the event has become a much-anticipated highlight on the local calendar, bringing together friends, family, and local businesses to celebrate Ron’s life and raise vital funds for The Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House. This year’s event was proudly sponsored by Artisan Drinks Co., whose continued support helps make the day possible.

A total of 21 teams of four took part, with players representing local businesses including Stephenson Smart, Avocet Developments, Ace Connections, Dantex Group, Vertex Architecture, Stair Form Work, and Artisan Drinks. The Texas Scramble format kept play fun and fast-paced, with additional competitions like Longest Drive, Nearest the Pin, Beat the Pro, and a Putting Challenge keeping spirits high.   After a competitive day on the course, the top teams were:   🥇 1st Place – Specsavers 🥈 2nd Place – Superformula Ltd 🥉 3rd Place – Avocet Homes Ltd Players and guests were then treated to a BBQ, followed by a lively auction and raffle. Prizes included a WhataHoot Distillery Tour, a luxury overnight stay for two at Caley Hall Hotel, and a 4-Ball at Heacham Manor.
