The Tulip Centre at Tapping House is an important part of the hospice’s services, providing a supportive, welcoming environment for patients and their families. Offering a range of services, activities, and therapies for anyone with a potentially life limiting illness such as Cancer, COPD or heart failure. Depending on your individual needs and situation we can offer a range of groups and intervention.
These are designed to enhance quality of life, manage symptoms alongside medication and promote independence.
We are here to help you navigate uncertainty, chat through challenges and together find ways for you to get on with living your life to the full.
Here are some key features of the Tulip Centre you can look forward to:
The Tulip Centre provides a range of short-term therapeutic groups and interventions. We provide opportunities for individuals to re-engage in meaningful activities, to explore new interests and skills, offering a distraction from anxiety, pain or fatigue; to improve mood and motivation and provide an opportunity for social interaction.
We provide sessions to help manage symptoms, such as breathlessness and fatigue and anxiety. We offer opportunities to improve mobility, fitness and balance. Additionally, we offer a variety of Complementary Therapies, including Massage, Reiki, Indian Head Massage, and Reflexology.
The Centre focuses on a holistic approach, addressing not only the physical needs of patients but also their emotional, psychological, and social well-being. This holistic care helps patients live as well as possible, managing symptoms and improving their overall quality of life.
In addition to supporting patients, The Tulip Centre works closely with our team that provides crucial emotional psychological and pastoral support for carers and family members. This includes counselling, and guidance to help them cope with the challenges of caring for a loved one with a life-limiting illness.
The Centre offers access to a range of specialist therapies such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and complementary therapies like massage or aromatherapy. These services help with symptom management, relaxation, and improving mobility, all aimed at enhancing the patient’s comfort and well-being.
The Tulip Centre brings together people with shared experiences to support one another. This sense of community is invaluable in helping patients and their families feel less isolated during challenging times.
